Finally, it’s my wedding day! I’m gonna wear something different from the normal white wedding gown, mine would be blue.
Oh wait! Seems I’ve gone too far. Sorry, I was caught up in so much excitement. Let’s travel back to the aftermath of the competition.
So yeah! We won the fashion competition in Europe and brought the trophy back home. As soon as Joanne sighted us, she hurried up to meet David and gave him a hug, even when he didn't want to hug her back.
"I missed you!" she said.
He wanted to say something but I couldn’t stand the sight;
"Emm... Joanne, he has heard you. We’ve got your money now, so you have no leverage against this house again. It has been paid into your account, and just in case you want to do anything stupid, don't forget we have a document on which you penned down your signature to our terms and agreement. As for David, he is mine and I am not ready to trade him with anyone else."
I left her speechless, left vodka and the other models laughing as I took David along with me.
"Wait, I'll pretend you didn't just say that," David said when we were meters away.
"I did, and it's best you get used to it."
Gosh! Who has Joanne help?
"I don't care!"
He smiled, hugged me and said, "Welcome back, Bukky!"
I went to see Jeremy immediately we arrived, but it seemed I was actually interrupting a romantic scene when I bounced in to meet him kissing Vodka.
"Oh! Sorry, sorry... Uhmm… Jeremy, I just wanted to say hi!"
He laughed and waved at me.
And they went back to business. Nobody told me to find my level; I gently walked out and closed the door behind me. At last, I was indeed happy for both of them.
David seemed to be wasting too much time; I wanted to get married to him before someone else tries to steal him away again. Just when I thought about him, he called me on the phone and took me out on a date.
My mind kept telling me he wanted to propose, but I didn't want to expect too much, just in case he decides to break my kidney.
"Do you remember what happened on this date?" he asked.
I acted as if I gave his question some careful thought, "Emmm... not quite."
He laughed. I was becoming impatient. I knew my David: each time he has something important to say, his eyebrows would usually twitch. Does he want to propose?
"I kissed you for the first time on this day,” he said.
Oh, now I remember.
"David, please just put the ring on this finger... I’m growing impatient."
He laughed heartily and brought it out.
I hushed him, collected the ring and knelt down;
"David Phillips, please marry me!"
He laughed till tears fell from his eyes. He accepted anyway. This is the man of my dreams.
I was now faced with the most difficult challenge life could possibly offer me: I have to go back to Ibadan and face my father. Ibadan, here I come!
